Vier Tage in Auckland. Natürlich bin ich die Queens Street einige Male rauf und runter gelaufen und habe den einen oder anderen Shop aufgesucht. Gleich am ersten Tage habe ich mir eine Merino Jacke gekauft. Aber nun zu den touristischen Highlights:
Auckland Domain
Auckland Domain ist so groß, dass ich immer wieder neue Ecken
entdecke, und natürlich bekannte Ecken gerne wieder
aufsuche, wie zum Beispiel die Fernery.
Mount Eden
Vom Zentrum zum Mount Eden zu laufen ist eine ziemlich lange Strecke und dann musste ich ja auch noch
hinauf. Doch es hat sich gelohnt, vom Gipfel des Mount Eden hat
man eine fantastische Aussicht.
Eden Garden
Da ich schon mal in der Nähe war, bin ich auch gleich zum Eden Garden
gelaufen. Das ist leider nicht gut ausgeschildert und ich musste ein bisschen suchen. Aber der Garten ist
wirklich schön und für Pflanzenfreunde ein echtes Vergnügen.
Rangitoto Island
Ein Ausflug zu Rangitoto Island lohnt sich allemal, auch
bei schlechtem Wetter, ich hatte einen etwas trüben Tag und Nieselregen. Auf der Insel gibt es ein paar
Ferienhäuser und sonst nur Natur. Die schwarzen
Lavafelder sind immer wieder faszinierend und vom Gipfel hätte
man eine tolle Aussicht (hinter mir ist Auckland! Kaum zu glauben.)
For days in Auckland. Of course I walked up and down Queens Street a couple of times and I went into some shops as well. Already on the first day I bought a Merino jacket. But now something completely different - Tourist Attractions:
Auckland Domain
Auckland Domain is so big that I always find new corners and
paths and I love to revisit some places as well, for example the
fernery.
Mount Eden
It is a long walk from Auckland Centre to Mount Eden and than I still had to
climb to the sumit. But it was worth it, from the top I had a
fantastic view.
Eden Garden
As I was in this area I decided to walk to Eden Garden.
It was a bit tricky because it is not very well singposted and so I had to search for it. But the garden is
really beautiful and for plant lovers a must.
Rantitoto Island
An excursion to Rangitoto Island is worth while, even in
bad weather, I had a dull day and drizzle. On this island there are a few
holiday homes and the rest ist nature. The black
lava rocks are always fascinating and from the sumit you could
have an amazing view (Auckland is right behind me! Believe it or not.)
